The works involved the cut/fill, trim and compaction of the post demolition ground levels with the work to be carried out in 2 visits. Visit 1 involved 30,000m3 of fill.
4,500m3 of clean fill was excavated during the creation of 2 asbestos contaminated material disposal cells. Once created, the asbestos contaminated material was placed and compacted in layers and encapsulated by a suitable membrane. Once full, the contaminated material disposal cells were capped by 150mm of stone with 500mm of soil, compacted in layers, prior to the handover of the site for further works.
All imported, and site won fill, along with the Asbestos contaminated material, were monitored and recorded through an MMP (Material Management Plan) bespoke to the works.
All works were completed within budget and ahead of programme with visit 2 due to commence in April 2019.
The KKB Team were easy to deal with, extremely knowledgeable, pragmatic and efficient. I look forward to working with them again on the second visit next year. A really good job done and a pleasure to work with’
