The contract is being delivered under the ICC Minor Works form of contract and works commenced on site in April 2018.
Following Geo-environmental and UXO surveys the existing Plant was demolished and the existing slabs were broken out and crushed to grade providing sub-base materials for the new Plant bases and the piling mats. Once prepared, 200 no CFA piles were installed, trimmed and tested prior to preparation of constructing the new Plant slab foundations.
Further work has been done relating to the provision of all required service ducting, preparation of the Pile Caps and reinforcement works to the new slabs, curved beams and concrete walls.
All the works are being undertaken in a very busy ‘live’ depot environment with no loss of production to the Client. Works are continuing on programme and are currently scheduled to be completed, on time, in August 2018.
‘KKB have ensured that there has been no loss of production on this busy depot whilst safely conducting their works. All the enabling works are on schedule and the project to upgrade this busy facility is running to programme.’
